Organic Food Gardening can be an excellent alternative to the formal organic food industry. Organic food is produced with a belief in the use of renewable resources to improve environmental quality for future generations. Organic products are given no antibiotics or growth hormones. Organic food is produced without using most conventional pesticides. But before a product can be labeled “organic,” a Government-approved certifier inspects the products to make sure they are following the rules necessary to meet USDA organic standards. Companies that handle or process organic food before it gets to your local supermarket or restaurant must be certified, too.
But even with all of this oversight, there is still a lot of confusion about what is and what is not organic, and whether you are paying more that you should for something that shouldn’t cost much. If you belive organic food is better for your health and the environment and want to be sure you’re getting the best possible product without spending a fortune, you can invest some time in doing your own Organig Food Gardening.
